Development of a real-time ready photon radiation simulation method
Abstract
The objective of this project, which is funded by the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) under the designation HU 2660/3-1, is the development of real-time ready X-ray radiation transport simulation methods. These methods will be based on hybrid Monte-Carlo simulation or fully learned methods. They will be developed in the context of interventional radiology. To ensure physical correctness, we are collaborating with the PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) for laboratory experiments and with the SCK CEN (Belgian Nuclear Research Centre) and the SKBS (Städtisches Klinikum Braunschweig) for practical measurements under clinical conditions. In the late stage of this project, we aim to visualize the results of our to-be-developed methods for training medical staff for fluoroscopy using augmented reality.
